| | As I'm riding the subway escalator there's an electronic sign above me that says, "Escalators are for passengers only."
I'm confused.
What else are escalators used for, aside from the obvious? Are folks playing Slinky on them? Have people been dry humping the rubber handrails? Do people use the mechanical steps as a nice way to grate cheese?
I may have to write the MTA to ask about this. Unless I'm missing something painfully obvious, this escalator sign is completely pointless to me --- and a sign, in my opinion, should only exist if it has a fucking point. Reading the sign on the escalator is like seeing a street sign that says, "This is written in English only."
I don't need signs to remind me that this world is retarded. The woman standing next to me on the escalator kissing her cat from a cell phone is more than sufficient.
